Still growing….

Here we are starting another year! In 2006 ballroom dancing continued to grow.  It appears that 2007 will continue the trend also.  How wonderful it is to see all the television and press coverage.   I am sure that everyone is anxiously waiting to find out who the next cast of Dancing with the Stars will include.   It does seem to get more interesting each year.   

I would like to thank all the local studios, dancers, DJ’s, coaches and teachers who have helped make ballroom dancing in the area so much fun and exciting.   The various dances, clinics, competitions put on in our area help us keep our calendars full and our feet moving.  Personally I am very thankful that most every weekend I have multiple options for my dancing activities! 

I would like to thank our board members for another year of dedicated service also.  Organizing activities, preparing our newsletter supporting and promoting ballroom dancing are some of the efforts this fine crew of folks dedicate themselves to.  So when you see Jane Rexroad, Beverly, Sinkiewicz, Christine Zonce,  Manny Leone, Jorge Jimenez, Marie Gertje or Emma Lee please thank them for their contributions.   I also would like to thank Jessica Hoskins for her time with us.   Jessica gave us a strong effort publishing our newsletter and contributing to our board. Many others have also volunteered themselves for various tasks and activities.  From all of us we truly appreciate your contributions.   Thanks also go out to Footloose Dance Studio, Dance Fever Euroballroom and Patterson’s who generously offer MASSabda member discounts.       

For 2007 we will be starting off with our elegant Inaugural Ball at the Danversport Yacht Club on Friday January 19^th.   I hope you all join our board for what has become a very wonderful tradition and a fun night.   We will have information about our other upcoming events soon.    

Of course we can always use more help too!   If you would like to help us and the whole dancing community please contact me or any of our board members.  We have many things we would like to do but need more positive minded folks to give some time and effort.
